Regarding the U.S. Olympic team’s uniforms being made in China > Nanette Lepore: Bring manufacturing back to US

"We can manufacture here…and the factories need work in order to survive. We need these factories to insure the future of American fashion. This would have been a great opportunity to show off manufacturing ability."- Nanette Lepore

Regarding the perception that everything is made in China, that the textile industry has left the U.S.A …

"It is a misconception .There are hundreds of smaller and larger designers manufacturing in America. We need to protect and create jobs and to work towards building back our manufacturing…"-Nanette Lepore

The US Olympic Committee (USOC) response:
“Unlike most Olympic teams around the world, the U.S. Olympic team is privately funded and we’re grateful for the support of our sponsors. We’re proud of our partnership with Ralph Lauren, an iconic American company.”

“…We are living in the age of participation. Economic, political, technological changes have empowered people everywhere to shape their own destinies in ways previous generations could never  have imagined. All these women, women in the world have proven that committed individuals…often with help, help from their friends can make a difference in their own lives and far beyond…”

***I  don’t get it. I love this lady, and I have a great respect for her personal carriage and for her work. She is smart, strong, a diplomat, intelligent and “gets shit done”.She has brass balls. I love that! When I ask people why they don’t like her the answer is always so shallow…they say that “she is off putting” or they “just don’t like her”. Fair warning to all that know me and don’t care for her… I consider her a role model. I hope I can be as strong, intelligent, courageous, and caring as she is.
Thank you Hillary Clinton for being an inspiration and for your years of hard work. You are making the world a better place.
